The Deliverance: A Fractured Reflection of Fear and Reality

the deliverance is true story
Directed by Lee Daniels, ventures into the realm of horror The Deliverance  is true  Latoya Ammons story.

In November 2011, Latoya Ammons, her mother, and her three children relocated to a quiet rental house in Gary, Indiana, only to encounter a series of unsettling events that would change their lives forever. Reports of mysterious footsteps in the basement, eerie shadows, and inexplicable wet boot prints in the living room set the stage for a chilling narrative. However, while the premise is intriguing, the execution leaves much to be desired.

From the outset, "The Deliverance" strives to capture the essence of horror, but it ultimately falls short. Critics argue that Lee Daniels' approach lacks the depth and intensity necessary to create a lasting impact. As one reviewer pointed out, there is a “good movie hidden away in The Deliverance,” but it is buried so deep that audiences only glimpse its potential through fleeting moments of tension. The film fails to deliver a coherent narrative, instead opting for clichés and familiar tropes that do little to engage viewers.

The film is anchored by a strong cast, including Andra Day as Ebony and Glenn Close as Alberta, both of whom bring their characters to life with dedication. However, even stellar performances cannot compensate for a lackluster script and direction. Glenn Close's portrayal of a mixed-race mother, although ambitious, is met with mixed reviews, as some critics argue that her performance does not resonate with the depth of the character. Critics have also noted the film's inconsistency, which detracts from the overall experience.

In its portrayal of horror, The Deliverance contrasts sharply with its predecessor, the classic film Deliverance, which explored themes of survival and the brutality of nature. While the original film created a powerful atmosphere filled with tension and ecological messages, The Deliverance seems to struggle with its identity. It attempts to evoke fear through supernatural elements but fails to weave a compelling story that resonates with audiences.

The title Deliverance holds significance in the context of the original film, where four protagonists embark on a canoeing trip to escape the stresses of modern life. However, The Deliverance does not effectively convey the origin or meaning of its title, leaving viewers disconnected from its intended message. Instead of exploring the characters’ journeys for liberation or salvation, the film appears to focus on shock value, ultimately detracting from any potential thematic depth.

One of the film's more contentious elements is its depiction of violence, including a controversial scene reminiscent of those found in horror cinema. While such scenes may aim to provoke thought, they often end up feeling gratuitous and detracting from the narrative’s emotional core. The shocking moments, such as the infamous “squeal like a pig” line from the original Deliverance, are included without context, leaving audiences questioning the motivations behind such actions.

While the film addresses serious themes, including racial dynamics and the complexities of fear, it struggles to create a compelling narrative arc. The supernatural elements, which could have offered a unique perspective on the horror genre, instead feel disjointed and unfocused. The underlying message about fear and trauma is lost in a maze of clichés, ultimately leaving viewers unsatisfied.

In conclusion, Latoya Ammons story presents an ambitious attempt to explore horror through the lens of a true story but falls short of its potential. With a talented cast and a compelling premise, the film had all the ingredients for success. However, it ultimately lacks the depth and execution needed to leave a lasting impression. As audiences navigate the landscape of modern horror, The Deliverance serves as a reminder of the importance of storytelling and the need for authenticity in the genre.

Sabrina Carpenter’s “Taste” Music Video: A Horror-Filled Homage to Classic Cinema

sabrina carpenter's new music video for taste
Sabrina Carpenter's new music video for "Taste" is a visually stunning tribute to classic horror films, blending dark humor with a playful, campy style.

Directed by Dave Meyers, the video is a feast for horror enthusiasts, filled with nods to iconic movies like Psycho, Death Becomes Her, and Kill Bill. As Carpenter and co-star Jenna Ortega engage in a macabre cat-and-mouse game, the video transforms gruesome scenes into a darkly humorous spectacle, turning horror into something both chilling and entertaining.

The video opens with a viewer advisory warning about explicit content and “graphic violence,” immediately setting the tone for the twisted fun that follows. Yet, despite the grim warning, the video is far from terrifying. Instead, it cleverly mixes horror with humor, making even the most violent scenes feel like a playful cartoon.

One of the most significant influences on "Taste" is the 1992 cult classic Death Becomes Her, directed by Robert Zemeckis. In this film, two women, played by Meryl Streep and Goldie Hawn, engage in a fantastical battle over immortality, ultimately forming an unlikely friendship. Carpenter’s video pays homage to this with a narrative that sees her and Ortega repeatedly killing and reviving each other, a clear nod to the film’s themes of rivalry and resurrection. The visual style and over-the-top antics in the video perfectly capture the spirit of Death Becomes Her, blending dark themes with a satirical edge.

Carpenter doesn’t stop at just one reference, though. The video also includes scenes reminiscent of Psycho’s iconic shower scene, Tarantino’s Kill Bill with its eye-patch-wearing nurse, and even lesser-known films like Ginger Snaps, a 2000 Canadian horror movie about two sisters transforming into werewolves. These cinematic nods are not just mere imitations; they’re reimagined with Carpenter’s unique style, adding layers of meaning and a fresh perspective to these beloved scenes.

In a particularly intriguing moment, the video features a gravestone with the inscription “In loving memory of Beloved Boyfriend,” hinting at a possible reference to Shawn Mendes, who, like Carpenter, was born in 1998. This playful speculation adds another layer of intrigue to the video, inviting fans to decode its many mysteries.

As Carpenter sings her warning to an ex-boyfriend’s new love, the video unfolds like a twisted fairy tale, where the characters’ repeated deaths and resurrections are portrayed with a mix of horror and hilarity. The final scenes, which subtly reference the upcoming Beetlejuice sequel, leave viewers with a sense of anticipation for what’s to come in both cinema and Carpenter’s evolving artistry.

In “Taste,” Sabrina Carpenter not only showcases her talent as a musician but also as a storyteller who knows how to weave together horror, humor, and heart. The video is a testament to her creativity and a must-watch for anyone who loves a good cinematic Easter egg hunt.

The actor admitted that the singer's sense of humor is one of her most overlooked qualities.

Taylor Swift Praises Hugh Jackman in 'Deadpool & Wolverine'. The singer posted glowing words of support for the actor and his new film, Deadpool & Wolverine.

"He did the best work of his life, and this movie feels like a portal of joy, a wild escape from reality, and a sandwich full of abs."

Is Taylor Swift in Deadpool 3? We do not know yet, but the pop star went on to joke that she and the other actors in the movie, who appear in the photo, were "randoms."

Gladiator 2 - The greatest action scenes ever made, continues (II)

Gladiator an eternal story
In the Gladiator sequel, Ridley Scott created a new central character. This is Lucius, grandson of Marcus Aurelius and heir to the throne.

The story should take place around ten years after the death of Maximus.

Why is Russell Crowe not in Gladiator 2?

Russell Crowe Says He's "Slightly Uncomfortable" He is tired of Gladiator 2 indeed! After having proclaimed his fed up some time ago: “They should pay me, p*****, for the number of questions I get asked about a film I'm not even in” , during a Festival in Karlovy Vary (reported by Variety), Russell Crowe once again made known his lack of interest in this new film.

The actor starred in the 2000 Ridley Scott film but is not part of the Gladiator sequel as his character, the Roman general Maximus Decimus Meridius, died. Crowe doesn't seem particularly thrilled that the film is getting a sequel 24 years later

Scott specifies that writing the screenplay was not easy.

"There was no script! In fact, we tried four years ago. I had chosen a very good screenwriter, but who couldn't find a good story. He struggled. He was terribly upset at not having been able to keep his commitment. Especially since it's a friend of mine I asked him: Can't you do it? And he simply replied: "no". It fell through."

In a recent interview with Rotten Tomatoes, Ridley Scott also clarified the context in which we will find the character of Lucius:

"He's out in the wild, 12 or 15 years later. He no longer has contact with his mother. And Lucilla even thinks he might be dead."

Lucius probably had an argument with his mother, probably due to what happened to Maximus.

Paul Mescal would therefore have been preferred to several very popular actors in Hollywood such as Timothée Chalamet (Dune) or Austin Butler (Elvis). It must be said that the 26-year-old actor stood out last year in the independent film Aftersun. A production that has been awarded several times.

Gladiator, an eternal story at the 5 Oscars

A little reminder for those whose memory is failing: Gladiator tells the story of the Roman general Maximus played by Russell Crowe. He becomes a slave when he is to succeed the emperor Marcus Aurelius.

Returning to Rome after having conquered the hearts of his people, he confronts the son of Marcus Aurelius, Commodus. This one is played by Joachin Phoenix, also brilliant with Machiavellianism in his interpretation of the Joker.

This Gladiator sequel will therefore follow the end of the story of the first film. And we wish him as much success!

Gladiator was indeed nominated 12 times for the Oscars and received no less than 5 statuettes. He also received the Golden Globe for best film music and that shows that Now we are free by Hans Zimmer made us shed liters of tears.

Zenless Zone Zero technical test sign up

zenless zone zero technical test sign up
Zenless Zone Zero is an action-RPG video game developed by miHoYo.

It is planned to be released on Microsoft Windows, Android and iOS. In a community post on the game's official YouTube channel it was announced on June 1, 2024 that the game will be released on July 4, 2024 on all platforms

The game takes place in a futuristic post-apocalyptic4 metropolis known as New Eridu. Entities known as the Ethereal traveled to the human world from portals called Hollows. The Ethereal wreaked havoc on most of the human population, exterminating most of them. However, a select group of people from New Eridu survived the onslaught by extracting technology and resources from the Ethereal

Even if the official release date is still not known for sure, using Zenless Zone Zero technical test sign up, it is still possible to play the game during the different Beta phases offered by the studio. Of course, places are limited and many players cannot join them. However, nothing is lost, especially if you are on PS5 since there is currently the possibility of registering for a technical test whose dates have not yet been communicated.

Despite how intense it can seem in motion, Zenless Zone Zero’s combat is forgiving and approachable. You have a basic attack and a dodge for timely escapes from signposted attacks, as well as the ability to swap to other agents to avoid scrapes, parry, or compound their combos. Building an enemy’s daze meter leads to a persistently satisfying chain attack, a slo-mo quick-time event where your colleague swoops in to lay the smackdown.

It is important to specify that by participating in the test phase, your data will not be saved and that it is possible that the game evolves between now and\the video game release. Which means that certain elements are likely to change. In addition, it is not necessary to have a PlayStation Plus subscription to benefit from it.

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F nostalgia of familiar things

Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F nostalgia of familiar things
Eddie Murphy (almost) always has a knack for playing shock cops. But this very targeted nostalgia of familiar things shot no longer has at all the freshness of the 80's classic.

A few synthesizer notes and we are propelled back 40 years. Axel F, the cult title imagined in 1984 by composer Harold Faltermeyer (no, it's not Crazy Frog), resonates in full force in Beverly Hills Cop 4 (currently online on Netflix) aptly subtitled: Axel F.

Less than a minute into the movie, released exclusively on Netflix, we hear the saxophone blasts of “The Heat Is On,” the Glenn Frey hit from the original Beverly Hills Cop.

Thirty years after his last trip to California, the Detroit inspector returns to Beverly Hills. This time to protect his daughter, a lawyer, who was drawn into a nasty case of drugs and crooked cops by good old Billy Rosewood. With his usual methods which pay little heed to the civil code, Axel Foley will move heaven and earth to bring down those who threaten his child

Eddie Murphy, still working his wide-as-a-superhighway grin as Detroit detective Axel Foley, cruises around his city as images of everyday people on the streets flash by, a blatant callback to the intro that kicked off the franchise.

Touched by nostalgia of familiar things, Eddie Murphy is no longer the crazy 23-year-old who burst the screen with his devilishly infectious energy. But at the age of 63, he still knows how to give us the banana (and not just in the exhaust pipe). With his wide bandit smile and his legendary chat, Eddie Murphy gives himself for 2 hours to prevent the nice nostalgic kiff from turning into gloomy melancholy. Because apart from a host of cleverly distributed winks - the returns of Serge (Bronson Pinchot), Rosewood and Taggart (Judge Reinhold and John Ashton) are the highlights of the film - this Beverly Hills Cop 4 struggles heavily to justify its existence.

The big set piece that follows gets Axel in the usual trouble with his superiors. (Paul Reiser) Then Axel learns that two people he cares about are in potential danger in L.A.: his estranged daughter, Jane (Taylour Paige of Zola), a criminal defense attorney representing a client who may have been framed by corrupt cops, and Billy Rosewood (Judge Reinhold), Axel’s old buddy who’s also entangled in exposing the truth about the same cops nostalgia of familiar things

The father/daughter drama that underpins the entire (meager) storyline is exhausting. And the new faces, Taylour Paige and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, never manage to breathe fresh air so the saga needed to motivate its much-needed comeback...

Faster than you can say Harold Faltermeyer, Axel is back in Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F, trying to solve a case that is 100 percent outside of his jurisdiction, seeing as how this man works in Michigan.

How to Get to Mohg Elden Ring

get to mohg elden ring
How to get stronger in Elden Ring?

Get to Mohg Elden Ring: Complete Beginners Guide and Tips

If you really want to have the best equipment in your game of Elden Ring, you will have to face very powerful opponents in almost impossible situations. That said, you can still find good items early in the game, even as a beginner. You just need to know where to look

How to Join the Realm of Shadows in the Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree

To join the region of the DLC Shadow of the Erdtree, the Realm of Shadows, in Elden Ring, it is not necessary to have finished the base game. However, to access this area, players must complete specific actions, which are as follows:

  • Defeat Radahn, the Scourge of the Stars.
  • Defeat Mohg, Lord of Blood.

These are two optional bosses located in distinct places (in Caelid for Radahn and at Mohgwyn Palace for Mohg). If you have defeated Radahn and Mohg, Lord of Blood, you simply need to go to Mohgwyn Palace, specifically to the site of grace "Cocoon of the Empyrean." Once there, talk to the NPC near the site of grace. You then need to interact with the withered arm coming out of the cocoon to travel to the Realm of Shadows and thus begin the DLC Shadow of the Erdtree.

How to Get Mohg Elden Ring?

To avoid fire, never dodge sideways and also avoid backwards if possible. Also pay attention to the bleeding damage that Mohg could inflict and keep a few pellets in the shortcuts to avoid unpleasant surprises.

Defeat Radahn and Mohg to Access the Elden Ring DLC Shadow of the Erdtree

If you have not defeated these bosses, you need to progress in Elden Ring. However, it is not as simple as that, because to reach the area of these major enemies, you will need to perform specific actions.

You will find Radahn in the region of Caelid, specifically at Redmane Castle. To access the battle against this boss, you need to trigger the festival. This event can be activated in various ways: by reaching the Altus Plateau, by completing Alexander's quest (who is northeast of the eastern Necrolimb region), or by progressing in Ranni's questline.

As for Mohg, Lord of Blood, there are several solutions to access this boss. The simplest and quickest is to complete Varré's quest. You will find this NPC at the Rose Church in the Liurnia region, once you have defeated Godrick the Grafted. When you have completed his quest, Varré will give you the Pureblood Knight's Medal, which allows you to teleport to Mohgwyn Palace. You then just need to progress in the area to confront Mohg. Then you'll have the opportunity to get to Mogh Elden Ring

Alternatively, if you have access to the Consecrated Snowfield region, a portal can teleport you to Mohgwyn Palace. We indicate its location via the first image below. If you opt for this solution and have reached Mohgwyn Palace, you then need to advance in the area to access the battle against Mohg, Lord of Blood.

Gladiator 2 - The greatest action scenes ever made, continues(I)

Paul Mescal in a gladiator costume
Ridley Scott is preparing the sequel to this great cinema classic. And we know who will play the grandson of Marcus Aurelius, heir to the throne. Along the way, the director also revealed some juicy information. Better, images of the main actor in costume have been revealed.

“The greatest action scenes ever made”: 24 years later, Gladiator 2 promises an epic spectacle

“Gladiator 2”, a sequel to the great classic released in 2000, will arrive on our screens on November 20. Will the film offer us “the greatest action scenes ever made?”

24 years after the first part, Gladiator will be entitled to a sequel, which will arrive on November 20, 2024. Ridley Scott himself was responsible for directing this second episode, convening a top-notch cast: Paul Mescal in a gladiator costume, together with Denzel Washington , Pedro Pascal, Connie Nielsen, Derek Jacobi and Joseph Quinn.

In the fall of 2021, we learned of the return of Ridley Scott.

At 83, the director decided to re-attack a cinema juggernaut: Gladiator. A true classic of the big screen of the 2000s, the sequel is being prepared... Obviously, the late Maximus will not be there. But he will have a successor...

Not yet available on the Internet, the first trailer was unveiled at CinemaCon in Las Vegas.

We see the new Maximus fighting in the heart of the Colosseum filled with rhinos, bloodthirsty baboons and even Roman warships...

Since today, the first photos of Paul Mescal in a gladiator costume are visible on the web...

Paul Mescal will be Lucius, heir to the throne

Ridley Scott has set his sights on Paul Mescal. This Irish actor is known for his role in the series Normal People but he could explode his popularity with the proposal that was made to him.

According to the filmmaker, without this character the sequel would not have seen the light of day, as he explained to Total Film magazine.

"One day, we thought about the problem again, and we came up with a very obvious idea: There is a survivor at the end of the first film. And this survivor is the son of the union between Lucilla and Maximus!” this is the main reason to continue the greatest action scenes ever made.

Good news, Connie Nielsen will be back to play the former mistress of the previous hero played by Russell Crowe (who assured Deadline that he would not return in this second opus).

(to be continued)

The Bear season 3 release date - Meet Yarrow Book again (II)

meet yarrow book again
The Bears season 3 release's is about the corner. Will we meet Yarrow Book again?

First, let's think about why the series is called The Bear

In Christophe Storer's series, the bear is none other than the nickname of Carmen himself, whom those close to him call "the Bear". It's also his family's mascot and the name of the restaurant that Michael, his late brother, wanted to open and that the younger brother is determined to make happen.

And now we refer to the Yarrow Book.

"Yarrow Book" is a fictional book, not a real publication, and appears in the context of "The Bear" series. "The Bear" is a television series that has become quite popular, and "Yarrow Book" is an element of this fictional book universe.

It is used in the series to add depth and context to certain characters or plots. In TV shows and movies, the introduction of fictional books can provide clues about characters' character, motivations, or be used as a narrative device to advance the story or reveal important aspects.

Indeed, the "Yarrow Book" is a fictional book mentioned in the TV series "The Bear." Although it is a fictional element created for the series, the concept of the book and any texts attributed to it are not available outside of the show's context.

In "The Bear," the "Yarrow Book" is used as a symbol of tradition and culinary knowledge, playing an important role in the story and in character development. However, there are no authentic texts or passages attributed to the "Yarrow Book" that are published outside of the series.

If you have found references or discussions related to the "Yarrow Book" in any fictional book form or within the context of the show, these are likely speculations or interpretations based on the story elements presented in "The Bear." Any mention of texts from the "Yarrow Book" in the series is part of the narrative created by the writers and does not represent real works. But, do not cross the opportunity to meet Yarrow Book again.

If you're interested in the specific details of how the Yarrow Book is used in The Bear, I recommend watching the series, as this kind of narrative detail is best understood in the context of direct viewing.

The Bear season 3 release date - Meet Yarrow Book again (I)

when will be the bear season 3 release date
It's official, The Bear will have a sequel, and quickly: filming for season 3 begins in February. It is an opportunity to meet Yarrow Book again

Acclaimed at the 2024 Emmy Awards with 10 awards (including the prize for best comedy series), the first two seasons of the series convinced with their electric atmosphere in the overheated kitchens of a Chicago restaurant. The Bear season 3 trailer is a fact

When will be The Bear season 3 release date? Original cast will be back!

John Landgraf, head of the FX television channel which broadcasts the series in the United States, announced to the American media that season 3 would be released in June 2024. He was not very talkative about the content, refusing to speak. on the synopsis or on the possible surprise appearances of actors who had punctuated season 2 (Olivia Colman had notably made an impression in her role as chef of a starred restaurant, restoring confidence to the character of Richie). However, we suspect that the original cast will be back on our screens: Jeremy Allen Wrhite, Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Abby Elliott, Liza Colón-Zayas, Matty Matheson and Lionel Boyce.

What will happen in season 3?

Carmen had been left locked in a large fridge, forced to let her team provide service for the reopening evening of her restaurant, after a season 2 of work and more individual adventures for Carmen, Ritchie, Sidney and Marcus. We can't wait to see Jeremy Allen White, who received a Golden Globe for his role in the series, pull out all the stops, and follow the development of the other characters who gain a littlemore depth with each episode. We hope the same with The Bear season 3 release date

As for the topics covered, in December 2023, Jeremy Allen White reminded Variety that while preparing for the first season, he had “spent a lot of time in restaurants” and had attended catering school. He then declared that “season 2 focused a lot on the creation of the restaurant, so there wasn't so much cooking”, before adding that in January he was going to spend “quite a bit of time meeting chefs” and prepare a menu, suggesting a third season more focused on the stifling atmosphere of the kitchen. Some recipes will be a great pleasure to meet Yarrow book again.

Where can we see now? As we can see The Bear season 3 trailer, the story will go on the same.

As with the last two seasons, it is very likely that the episodes will all be available to watch at the same time, since as John Landgraf says, “even if the episodes are separate, there is a whole atmosphere to the season,  we are not going to change now.”

The Bear season 3 trailer Original cast will be back!

(to be continued in order to meet Yarrow Book again)
