What if Lady Jane Grey, who reigned on the English throne for only nine days, had not been beheaded? This is the alternative offered by the My Lady Jane series on Prime Video. Adaptation of the famous bestselling novel by Cynthia Hand, this new television program imagines a different destiny for this 14th century sovereign. Here, Lady Jane is a young woman in search of emancipation and freedom, who does not fit into boxes and does not necessarily respond to what is expected of her.
While she is destined for marriage, the vice around Lady Jane tightens. What's more, the young woman is the target of criminals who want to take the throne. The series rewrites the History of England and for our greatest pleasure. We discover a completely offbeat series, with caustic humor with a refreshing heroine who is not shy. The narration of "enemies to lovers", which we cherish so much, is present and we cannot resist this modern soundtrack which accompanies all of Lady Jane's ultra badass actions.
A delightful casting for My Lady Jane on Prime Video
To play such an original and inspiring heroine, the production called on actress Emily Bader, who we have already seen, among others, in Paranormal Activity: Next of Kin and Halloween Cursed.
